Dear Parents,
Please find attached a letter from our school's Board of Governors, seeking nominations for a new Parent Representative for St Malachy's Primary School for the next term of governance (2024-2028). Boards of Governors are reconstituted on a four yearly basis and meetings are held at least once per term. The role, which is voluntary, will require a commitment to attend relevant trainings/workshops in relation to Child Protection/Safeguarding as well as other important governance responsibilities.
In advance of commencing a new term of school governance, I would like to sincerely thank Gareth Savage, who has served as our school's Parent Rep for the last four years. Gareth brought very relevant educational experience, commitment and professionalism to the board during his time, and his support was greatly valued!
Applications for the next cycle should be returned in a sealed envelope to either Mr Toner in school or to the Parish Office. Please read the instructions on the attached letter before proposing anyone, as their permission must first be sought.
Nominations returned will be opened by a delegation from the current Board of Governors, and if there is more than one candidate proposed, an election will be held.
A hard copy of this letter will be given to pupils this week, so if you wish to propose someone, please complete and return the nomination form which is also attached.
