Fireman - John Garvey visits P5&6 pupils to discuss fire safety

Fire safety and prevention is an important topic for Primary 5 pupils.  Recently our class had a visit from John Garvey (Newtownhamilton Fire Service).  John discussed with pupils the importance of staying away from dangerous fire hazards such as bonfires, chip pans, boiling water and matches.  Each child receive a 'goody' pack and were asked to check their smoke alarms at home.  We would ask all parents to discuss this with their children at home too, in order to reinforce this very important message.
