Hit the Diff (Marty Mone came to our school to sing the Hit Song)

What an incredible surprise it was when Marty Mone (The Singer and Songwriter) of the hit song came into St Malachy's to sing the Hit Single.  Elaine Cunningham (parent) organised the treat for our pupils in June 2015.  

As Marty arrived the pupils were completely unaware of what was about to happen!  Many of our pupils were performing for Mr Kennedy and Mrs Delaney following a visit from a magician.  Mrs Delaney asked some of the boys to sing 'Hit the Diff' because she was not familiar with the hit song.  While the boys (most of whom were huge fans of Marty) were belting out the chorus, Marty entered the room with his guitar and joined in!  Faces turned pink and a general sense of awe began to spread among the pupils.  It was a moment to be remembered and retold for weeks and months. Sean (P4 pupil) described it as 'The best School Day ever!"
