Just like the good old days!
On Tuesday 20th October, the pupils were treated to the yearly digging of the potatoes. A special visitor in the form of Mr Kennedy, also made a guest appearance to help lend a hand and provide some very important experience that money just could not buy! Primary six and seven are currently studying about 'The Great Irish Famine' so digging the potatoes was a special lesson in it's own way. To top things off, the pupils got to sample their own work by cooking the potatoes. It's hard to beat 'spuds and butter'.
Learning outside the classroom really enables pupils to engage with their environment and gain a better understanding of the world around them.
Many thanks must go to the very fresh faced Mr Kennedy on returning to give the children a special insight into what life was like many years ago. Have a peak at some of the pictures to see how we got on.
