Pupil Blessings by St Faustina’s Relic (5th October 2023)
5th Oct 2023
Today was the feast day of St Faustina, who was born in Krakow Poland in 1905. She was a young nun who entered the sisters of Our Lady of Mercy convent in 1925 and subsequently had visions of Jesus during the next few years, before she died aged only 33.
The famous Divine Mercy image of Jesus was created to depict what she saw during her apparitions and to this day the message of his merciful love for us is what St Faustina is remembered for promoting.
The Primary 7 pupils visited the church today to light candles and say prayers to St Faustina for their special intentions. They learned about the Divine Mercy image and how St Faustina was involved in its creation.
Fr Murphy gave the pupils, staff and parishioners a special blessing with her relic after mass. It was a very memorable day for us all!
